I have been caring for and loving children since 1983. I truly love little children and enjoy teaching them and watching them learn.
I have had disabled children in my care before from the mildly disabled to severely disabled.
I try to make the Day Care experience much like a child would find at home, with stories, finger plays, dance movements, etc.
I do not keep to a strict schedule, with the exception of meals and quiet-time. We do many activies and projects but if the children are enjoying themselves with what they are doing, I will not force them to stop and do a project or activity that I might have planned. I have found this to be very stressful for children. If they want to join the others later that is fine. They will get enough strict structure once they enter the public school system. They need a chance to just be little children.
I teach the children sign language beginning as soon as 4 months old. Children that learn sign language at an early age learn to speak more quickly, have less temper tantrums, and learn faster in general.
If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
